Planning to visit the very famous Great Wall of China when time permits?
Have you just recently seen Mulan and was very interested in their unique culture and customs?
Have you always thought of Chinese civilization distinctive and something that you would like to immerse in better and properly by visiting the country itself?
Then make sure you grab the opportunity to do so, but prepare yourself for this very adventure. Don’t just go diving headfirst and feel like a very obvious odd man out in this country.
When planning to visit the country, it would be best to equip one’s self with the right attitude and knowledge on what to expect and how to converse and communicate with them, so study Mandarin Chinese.
Communication is not only about speaking the language. Although you may say that English is a universal language, and visiting another country would always have someone understand English, you wouldn’t really want to experience the country as a tourist, would you?
When communicating, you include thoughts, beliefs and the right approach to these people. Learning what their practices are, their customs, and what they expect from others will endear you so much more, compared to visiting as a tourist.
So when starting out your grand adventure, take pains and time to learn their language. It would take time, yes, but the rewards that you would reap with people who would easily convey their thoughts to you and listening to you speak to them in their mother tongue, will make exchange of ideas faster, easier and so much more enjoyable.
